A little bit about our background in the music industry.

John Michaels
John is a 30-year veteran Front Of House (FOH) audio engineer and tour manager with a background in radio broadcasting and studio production. His FOH, Backline, Monitor and Systems Tech credits are a who’s who in music, including: Nirvana, John Paul Jones, Pennywise, Soundgarden, Popa Chubby, Luther Allison, Matthew Sweet, Ambrosia, Poco, Player, Pure Prairie League, Firefall, Orleans, The Smithereens, The Motels, Bow Wow Wow, Valerie June, The BoDeans/Sam Llanas Band, Tonic, The Lt. Dan Band (Gary Sinise), Citizen King, The Gufs, Survivor, Michael Tolcher, Levi Lowrey, Mindless Self Indulgence and Todrick Hall. He previously worked for the boutique audio company Sonic Circus, running its Live Install department, where he was responsible for sound installations at notable venues such as The Knitting Factory in both Manhattan and Brooklyn, and Irving Plaza in Manhattan.

Alan Tilles
Alan is a longtime sax player, music journalist, and entertainment attorney at Shulman Rogers in Potomac, MD. He brings a wealth of knowledge and history on music culture. He has played onstage with Ambrosia, Marty Balin (Jefferson Airplane), Orleans, Members of Tower of Power, Gary Wright, John Ford Coley, Denny Laine (Moody Blues/Wings), Billy Hinsche (Dino, Desi & Billy) and Terry Sylvester (Hollies/Swinging Blue Jeans). He has played in bands opening for Ann Wilson (Heart), Kansas, The Guess Who, Clarence Clemons, Rick Springfield, Billy Ocean, Firefall, Poco and Three Dog Night. In 2018 he played sax on the East Bay Soul cut “Send” on their CD “Conversation” and he will be appearing doing back-up vocals on Joey Molland‘s (Badfinger) upcoming project. A former radio and house DJ, Alan also owned WTHU-AM in Thurmont, MD.
